The origin of muscle pain and the impact of
MMB
The programme is for
people involved in computer terminal work. The workout aims to
prevent and cure occupational diseases including tension neck,
head ache, join pain, nerve changes in arms, sleeping
difficulties, stress.
Static muscle work and improper positions at
work will decrease metabolism in muscles. It will create lactic
acid and it will chemically cause pain. The pain increases
tension, when the muscles try to avoid pain. Tensed muscles
cause changes in the position of joints which affects the
mobility and the positions. It may cause head ache and decreased
mobility of the neck.
Stress causes tension to muscles thru the
functions of autonomic nerve system. Thus the cause of pain is
not only in mechanical, chemical functions or lack of motion.
MMB is break workout programme, which may help
in recovering blocked muscles and nerves, joints which are stiff
to move can be better. By moving your muscles you will get new
fresh blood to the congested muscles. By stretching your stiff
muscles, there will develop momentarily space in joints, causing
metabolism to recover. By stretching congested nerves there will
occur increased metabolism in nerves, which may help in tingling
and numb fingers.
Proper breathing method greately enhances
motions. Breathing inwards using the diaphragm, and outbreathing
using appr. twice as much time gives relaxing signal to the
autonomous nerve system.
In preventing computer terminal users'
diseases it is important to look at breaks and break workout.
Regular breaks and physical exercises in particular will
decrease muscular pains of the workers. The efficiency of the
workers will increase and thus the achievements in the whole
office will improve. Some strecthing and muscular exercises can
be performed also during the work, e.g. during phone calls.
